Please note: Although young children need adult supervision anywhere, especially where pools are concerned, we trust that these villas, are more suitable for families with small children. We can give you personal advice about each individual property.
The Villa Gaia is located near Stintino in the North West corner of the island of Sardinia. It is roughly 35 minutes drive from Alghero Airport. This is a charming villa with its own private pool, garden and terraces and patios to relax on.
There is a restaurant 10-15 minutes walk away. The lovely Saline beach is 2 km away and can also be reached by bus as there is a small bus stop near the villa. You can also get the bus into Stintino and to the renowned La Pelosa beach, just 4 km away. There is a residence nearby where there is a supermarket and bank machine and a few other facilities such as bar and children's play area.
A few staggered sets of steps lead down to the villa, with the private pool visible as you come down the first set. The pool is surrounded by lawns, trees and garden and is bordered on side by a series of pretty flowerbeds and plants on different levels. The pool also boasts a sea view to one side and there is an external shower.
You will find the kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, hob and fridge freezer to the right of the main entrance. The living room has blue sofa and armchairs and a white dining table. It opens out onto a patio with a lovely view of the countryside and of the Cesaraccio salt lake. Nine steps (walled and railed) lead up to a second living room with a double sofa bed and beamed ceilings. This room leads out onto a small covered veranda. There is a very large bathroom with bathtub.
From the entrance hall eight steps lead downstairs to another bathroom with bathtub. There is a twin bedroom to the left and a master bedroom to the right. The master bedroom has a wrought iron bed-head and French windows that open out onto a patio and small piece of garden.
There are many good restaurants in Stintino and we would recommend an excursion to the nearby Asinara island which is now protected national park land.
