Villa Ginepri, Stintino, near Alghero, Sardinia

  • Private pool, air conditioning, garden, terrace, sea view, barbecue

Villa Ginepri is named after the large fragrant Juniper tree in the Villas garden. The villa is surrounded by garden and has a large private pool and excellent sea views. There is a characteristic large built-in barbecue for enjoying food al fresco, and there are several terrace areas and a roof top solarium from which to sunbathe and admire the views.

The villa has a very large living/dining room with television and air conditioning that has large glass patio doors leading out onto the spacious sea-facing terrace, which is equipped with nice wooden table and chairs for relaxing outdoors. In front of the terrace is garden and then three steps lead down to the pool area, which is on a slightly different level to the rest of the garden. There are sun loungers by the pool for making the most of the summer weather. The separate kitchen is well-equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, oven, hob and fridge-freezer.

Four wide steps lead down from the living room to the bedrooms. The main double bedroom has a large wardrobe, sea view and sliding doors leading out into the garden. It has an en-suite bathroom with bathtub and shower attachment. There is a twin room, which can be converted into a double which has its own en-suite bathroom with shower and which leads out onto a terrace. There are a further two twin bedrooms and a third bathroom with bathtub and shower attachment. There is plenty of cupboard space at the end of the hall as well as in the bedrooms.

This detached villa with its four double bedrooms and three bathrooms is an ideal place for large groups of friends or for two families holidaying together or for. Although very young children will naturally need supervision, especially around the pool area we believe the villa to be child-friendly as it is enclosed all around and inside the only stairs are four wide walled steps that lead down to the bedrooms.

There is also a residence nearby (10-15 minutes walk) where there is a large pool with shallow end for children, a children's play area, a small supermarket and a bar. Cots and highchairs can be provided at the villa if necessary.

It is located in the Northwest corner of the Island on the outskirts of the charming village of Stintino overlooking the sea and the Cesaraccio Saltpan, where you may be lucky enough to spot some of Sardinia's famous pink flamingos.

The Le Saline beach in conservation area is roughly 2 km away and the beautiful La Pelosa beach, famed for its beautiful white sands and clear turquoise seas is just 4 km away. One restaurant is about 10-15 minutes walk away otherwise there are many excellent ones in the village itself and along the coast down to La Pelosa beach.

There are small buses that leave regularly from the bus stop near the villa and will take you to Stintino where there are many good restaurants as well as to the nearby beaches. It is also worth a day trip to the nearby beautiful conservation parkland Isle of Asinara.
