Villa Pancani, Stintino, near Alghero, Sardinia

Villa Pancani is a lovely independent villa with its own private pool and barbecue. It is located in the Country and Golf village near Stintino, in the Northwest tip of the island. It is under an hour's drive from Alghero airport (40 km). The lovely Le Saline beach is approximately 2 km away and the renowned sandy beach of La Pelosa is just 4 km away. The villa has views of the Cesaraccio salt pan where pink flamingos can be seen nesting at various times of the year.

The tastefully decorated three-level villa has beautiful wooden beamed ceilings painted a pale creamy shade throughout. As you enter the house there is a hall area with 9 steps leading upstairs to the top level. Although parents with young children would need to supervise children around the staircase area, there is a rail on one side and a wall on the other.

The master bedroom, with views of the salt pan and sea, is located here. It opens out onto a small patio with views of the private pool, and 6 small steps lead from here to a small solarium. This bedroom shares a bathroom with shower with the twin bedroom that is also located on this level.

From the hall area, 8 steps lead to the downstairs where there are two bedrooms, separated in the middle by a bathroom with bathtub. On one side there is a twin bedroom (can be converted into a double) in blue and on the other side is a double bedroom that leads out onto an arched patio with a view of the pool.

On the ground level opposite the hallway, two small steps lead to well-lit living room, which is furnished with two comfy cream sofas, a large glass coffee table, a TV, and a round table for dining. The living room opens out onto a large terrace with comfortable cushioned cane chairs and sofa from which to admire the views. The barbecue is by the pool, which is surrounded by sun beds.

The villa is completely enclosed by its own gardens and, although small children would need to be supervised around the pool area, we would recommend this 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom villa for families as well as for groups of friends. Cots can be provided at the villa if necessary.

There is a small bus stop near to the villa where you can take a shuttle bus to either of the nearby beaches or into the picturesque village of Stintino itself, where there are many good restaurants as well as a lot to do. There is a residence nearby (10-15 minutes walk) where there is a large pool with shallow end for children, a children's play area, a small supermarket and a bar. There is also a restaurant near to it. We would also highly recommend a day trip to the nearby beautiful Asinara Island, which has a vivid history and is now protected wildlife conservation area.
