Just a 5-min drive to the village of Castelfranco di Sopra, which has lots of very good restaurants, weekly markets on the square, boutiques, and small local shops. Other small villages are within easy reach.
It is roughly an hour and a half drive from Pisa, and you may be able to get a good deal on flight prices as Ryanair fly there daily.
The organic farm Botro lies amongst acres and acres of olive groves and vineyards, in secluded tranquillity overlooking a magnificent landscape and the rolling hills of Tuscany. The tranquillity of the place is unique, as unique as the beauty of this as yet unspoilt corner of Tuscany, which is nevertheless only a short drive to Florence and the pearl of Tuscany, Siena. The beautiful churches and castles in the nearby villages contain amazing world famous treasures, such as the paintings of Masaccio, Piero della Francesca, Fra Angelico etc. Local craftsmen sell lovely leather goods and gold objects in the traditional Tuscan style, which they also export worldwide.
The main buildings are a characteristic one-bedroom farm house The Old Bakery and a fully refurbished large apartment The Monastery dating back to the 13th century. There is also a large ground floor studio — The Old Stable — which has been totally restored, retaining all its old features, such as chestnut beams and beautiful stone floors.
A few hundred meters away is Villa Malva, a secluded spacious villa, fully refurbished and bordered by mature trees and woods. From every window there is a stunning view of the amazing landscape below, and the villa is surrounded by its own large private patio. All the guests can use the large panoramic pool.
The friendly owner and his family sell organic vegetables, wine and eggs. On location there is a small restaurant that prepares breakfast, dinners and luncheons, offering excellent genuine food made with local organic produce.
