The Manor is composed by an ancient aristocratic Villa, a farmhouse, a church and wine cellars, a centenary park and a swimming pool; it is situated on a hill dominating the valley and facing the beautiful town of Orvieto, offering one of the most spectacular views of Umbria.
During the 19th century Pope Pius IX (1846–1878) spent in this beautiful villa in Umbria his summer holidays: since then it has acquired its name from the faithful's wishes of “buon viaggio” to the Pope everytime he left the Villa to return to Rome. In more recent years this umbrian Villa gave hospitality to numerous personalities who had the opportunity to admire the magic landscape offered by the “Belvedere”.
The current owners have meticulously returned the estate to its former splendour to create a villa which can be rented as three separate choices of accommodation either to take seperately or for a single party.
The private estate and rental villa is surrounded by large grounds punctuated with fauna, trees and viewing terraces. The manor house accommodates the largest building for accommodation.
There is a separate, detached farm building with one separate apartment with private terrace. A consecrated chapel, wine cellar and a very large private swimming pool compliment the extensive grounds and the views they offer.
This large manor house in Umbria dominates the estate and is complimented by a large garden, private swimming pool and belvedere viewing terrace. The Villa was used by Pope Pius IXth and these rooms have retained their frescoes, furniture and even the bed he once slept in!
Features are the dining room with a large basaltine fireplace and there is a large frescoed stairway.
There are many restaurants within the vicinity including a large range of choice in Orvieto as well in the surrounding countryside and villages.
